Our facility has many outdoor activities for you to enjoy with your dog. The pond is one of my personal favorites, because it has become great fun for our family. The area is fenced; the water is safe for your dog and can be used for a variety of different venues.
We don’t have set hours, and only ask that you not disturb others with your fun. To elevate the needs for scheduling we have established a half hour system which will give your dog plenty of tail wagging, tongue dragging, dripping fun.
Annual Fee: $25 between April and September (a one time fee per dog owner).
Jump Training Fee: $5 per 1/2 hour. ($2 for each additional dog per owner).
Prior to anyone utilizing the pond a waiver must be signed.
Pond Info
For the last four years we have had this pond at our facility. It has been a project in the making as we have improved upon it each year for our clients to have a safe/fun environment for their dogs to train.
Our goal is always to keep cost at a minimum and to effectively do this we are going to ask everyone to help by following the rules. We have spent a lot of time and money to bring the quality of the pond to a level that should please everyone, however more rules must be established in order to maintain this area.
The pond water is treated with an in-ground pool pump, linked to a ionizer that cleans the water of bacteria, then through a filter and back into the pond. I test the water weekly to keep the water safe and use a non-chlorine shock as needed to keep the water as chemical free as possible.
The blue die in the pond is basically food coloring and is completely safe for your dogs. It is mostly for looks, but it does help keep algae from growing. It does wash off and the blue you see on your dog when they get out is simply the water.
Pond Rules
Safety
- You are responsible for your dog and your dogs actions. No aggressive dogs (towards humans or animals) are allowed on the property.
- Gates on the dock are for employee use only and will be locked at all times.

- The fee for using the pond is $5 per 1/2 hour for 1 dog and $2 for each additional dog in the fenced in area, regardless if they are swimming or hanging out.
- We operate the facility under the honor system and would appreciate you being honest with the time spent past the half-hour mark. Anything over 40 minutes will be considered 1 hour.
- The above rate applies for one dog per owner, not two people with two dogs under one rate.
- All payments will be placed in the box inside the building, prior to leaving. Above the payment box is a board for you to put your time in/out on for us to keep track of the payments.

Events
Fun Jumps: There are many dogs that can benefit from swimming or dock jumping. Individually, dock jumping is a very high energy burning event for the dog, which requires little effort from the owner. Our facility offers a regulation carpeted dock, a distance gauge and a fenced in pond for all to enjoy.
Many dog owners have entered sanctioned events only to have their dog either not jump or have poor jumps, thus potentially discouraging them from continuing. For this reason, we are going to host a monthly fun jump in efforts to give you a chance to compete with others to improve jumping skills, work on technique and enjoy the company of other competitors at all levels.
There will be a small entry fee and you must register prior to the scheduled event to participate.
Please note these events are not affiliated with any of the dock jumping organizations and are not sanctioned events.
Private Lessons: For those who want to improve on their skills, but are unsure of what to do or what they are doing wrong this is a very good way to grow. Others may have dogs afraid to get off the dock or not getting the performance you know your dog is capable of achieving. Please e-mail
pat@curreysfamilypetcare.com or call 734-532-2013 for more information.
Swimming: Not everyone’s dogs are into jumping, however, they are still welcome. If you just want a safe place to have your dog take a relaxing swim or need a place to conduct physical therapy without the hassles of dog restrictions, pay us a visit.
Private Swimming Lessons: Don’t laugh, not all dogs know how to swim and we are here to help. We have been very successful at assisting dogs that are afraid of the water learn to swim. While all dogs have the ability to swim some have had bad experiences preventing them from enjoying it or they need confidence in their abilities. Please e-mail
sara@curreysfamilypetcare.com or call 734-732-5669 for more information.
Prior to utilizing the facilities everyone must meet with a staff member, fill out all consent forms and agree to adhere to the posted training rules. This can be done by calling (734) 732-5669 or (734) 532-2013. You can download a copy of the pond rules
